Notice of House of Bishops: Resumption of the reception of the Blood of Christ in Holy Communion
Since the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has been gradually adjusting Covid prevention and control measures, the House of Bishops has announced that starting from the services in the evening of Christmas Eve and the Christmas Midnight Mass this year, churches situate in Hong Kong are to resume the practice of allowing communicants to receive both the Body of Christ and the Blood of Christ in Holy Communion. Parishioners can decide for themselves if they would like to receive Holy Communion under one kind only or both kinds.
The House of Bishops restates that in Holy Communion we find Christ’s real presence in the consecrated bread and wine. Therefore, whether a parishioner receives Holy Communion under one kind only or both kinds does not affect the entirety of the grace s/he receives through the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
Churches should continue to observe other disease prevention measures currently in place until further notice.
Any questions regarding the above arrangements should be addressed to the bishops.
By order of the House of Bishops

Provincial Secretary General
